  1. Following the main tasks and positions declared in second Resolution Concerning an Art Strike in Opposition to the Declaration of Vilnius as the 2009 EU City of Culture declared on July 3rd 2008 STASAC announces its implementation in the form of Alytus Art Strike Biennial.
  2. Therefore we declare: the biennial was realized and the art was suppressed for a moment when artists and activists found out common space to do things together without concurrence, hierarchy, spectatorship and – that’s very important to note – everything happen in the atmosphere of well wishing and good fun.
  3. The tradition of Alytus biennials to hold an experimental character finally turned into the unitary experiment (as rightly noted by Stephanie).
  4. Local and national artistic community was struck for a year on “blasphemous” assault on the “serious culture” in general and on the particular case of Vilnius – European city for culture. So far the case of the EUC project was hardly corrupted the striking gave an impact for the further devilment of total distrust towards the institutionalized forms of culture.
  5. STASAC acknowledges that was failed in all attempts to find out any concrete initiative to continue boycotts of upcoming cultural capitals besides got many supports from the former “cultural capital’s” citizens.
  6. STASAC worked on the integration of the local community, rebellious and dissatisfied with the capitalist art system international artists, national and international art & political activists for the common direct actions in concrete place and did it at some extent.
  7. STASAC furthermore declares that nothing created during the event has any artistic value and whatever documented version of the event and its venues has just simple message – everybody can do it in whatever place and there is nothing to wonder at. The main thing is to gather and to do things together.
  8. STASAC was indirectly accused as not being politically incorrect due the feminine part of the persons invited consisted in evident minority. STASAC acknowledges as being struck by the mostly of the feminine artists and/or activists in either passivity towards the issue, or some kind of skepticism, or even open declaring of feminist approach to do much more art while men striking…STASAC gave up then on political correctness.
  9. STASAC thanks for everybody who contributed, discussed, participated, criticized, showed solidarity with the initiative and the event and looks forward for future collaborations to arise in much more powerful and better (self)organized form in the future.
  10. STASAC acknowledges that was not able to integrate the homogeneous revolutionary group able to act directly and having a concrete aim. It was rather the way to give an impact for all the participants to articulate it themselves as consequence of struck mind. STASAC hopes the participants will find out the necessity for the direct actions in the public spaces to avoid capitalist alienation and fragmentation and to seek for a common basis to unite.
  11. Therefore, be it resolved that the STASAC-Alytus is hereby dissolved, to be replaced by a joint cultural initiatives lead by interested persons, to be named as inventive as it was shown during the whole preparation and agitation work, or by better suggestions should they arise, at some point in the very near future.

SEE YOU ON THE BATTLEFIELD UNDER THE NEW NAMES BUT WITH THE SAME FLAGS!
